Pattern Description

1940s Bed jacket and slippers pattern. This bed jacket, also sometimes called a dressing jacket, offers four lacy, ruffled and feminine styles. These jackets are waist length, and worn over one's nightgown or pajamas for warmth. Imagine yourself in bed with your jacket while sipping coffee and working the New York Times crossword.

Style 1 - Designed with inside tucks at the front shoulders and is trimmed with delicate gathered lace. This jacket is shown with long sleeves trimmed in lace.

Style 2 - As with Style 1, inside tucks leave a soft drape of fabric at shoulders. Jacket is finished with a double self-ruffle and pocket. Jacket shown with 3/4 sleeves.

Style 3 - Fashioned with a yoke front and is bound in contrasting color. May be lined or unlined.

Style 4 - Gathered lace edging outlines the front yoke and short sleeve.

The slippers, finished with an open toe, have all edges bound in a contrasting color.
